Serbia’s Trade and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic said on Tuesday that he does not expect the Telekom Serbia company to be sold in 2019.
“I don’t expect anything to happen with the sale of the Telekom. There has always been interest from various funds or companies but everything depends on the offers and a business decision by Telekom. I can’t say whether they will choose a partnership process,” he told the Beta news agency.
The minister said that the acquisitions made by Telekom recently are in line with today’s market operations. Telekom bought the Kopernikus Technologies cable operator.
Ljajic said the changes on the Serbian telecommunications market, such as the arrival of the Czech PPF Fund which took over Telenor Serbia, are good for consumers because they will have better quality on offer at lower prices as well as the development of infrastructure.
