The Serbian Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) will employ 1,000 people, mainly to reinforce the police, Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said at a meeting with police academy cadets.

“The MUP is preparing to employ 1,000 more people, primarily in the ranks of the police, to replace people who are retiring or have changed jobs,” he said.

“We want the police to be a contemporary mechanism offering services to the citizens and guaranteeing security. Our job is to make Serbia safe,” the minister said.
