Muamer Zukorlic, a Bosniak political leader in Serbia, said on Thursday that he supported the country’s president in attempts to solve the Kosovo issue, but that any border change in the Balkans was the riskiest solution, the Beta news agency reported.

He added that Aleksandar Vucic should first explain what he meant by separation (from the Albanians) because that could stand for the recognition of the existing borders, as well as for their revision.

“The later is the most dangerous (idea) because nowhere in the world, and especially in the Balkans, there are no examples of border changes without a conflict,” Zukorlic, an MP and the head of Party of Justice and Reconciliation, told the Belgrade Kurir daily.

Zukorlic, a former Mufti-turned-politician added that peaceful changes of the borders were possible with the consent of both sides, but since the international powers were also involved into the Kosovo situation, it was not only a bilateral issue.
