Pristina’s President Hashim Thaci said on Friday that it would be difficult to fully reconcile with Belgrade because of the crimes Serbia committed in Kosovo, but that it was necessary to work on the rapprochement, the Pristina media reported.
He has added that the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina will contribute to the regional stability.
“Kosovo and Serbia cannot solve the problems on their own. We know what happened in Kosovo and what crimes the state of Serbia committed,” Thaci said.
In the meantime, at the reception for Serbia’s young chess players, Vucic compared the dialogue with Pristina to a chess game, saying there were still pieces on the board and “we will try to end the game in a draw.”
Speaking about his last meeting with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic in Brussels, Thaci said that it was the shortest and the most difficult so far.
“It is not easy to talk to Vucic who still consider Kosovo as a part of Serbia and the heart of Serbia,“ adding Serbia’s President stand was far from reality.
