The Kosovo police and informed sources differ on the reasons behind the latest incidents in majority-Serb areas, the Beta news agency said on Monday.

According to the Kosovo police, none of the recent incidents were ethnically motivated but informed sources believe that they are the consequence of the break in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to normalize relations.

A police media statement said that crimes are crimes regardless of who committed them. “The security situation is peaceful and stable with occasional incidents caused by different reasons,” it said.

“The basic right of every citizen is living freely without fear, regardless of age, sex, religion or ethnicity,” the statement said.
