Officers leave Serbia’s Army, union warns Izvor: N1

The Union of Serbia’s Army warned in a statement on Monday that three thousand members left the force in the last two years due to the service’s worsening conditions.

The statement said that bad material situation, organisational deficiency, bad decisions made by the General HQ and lack of proper evaluation led to a massive walkout from the Army.

It added that the latest example was corporal Srdjan Ristic, declared the best soldier on the force in April, who left because he has been waiting for a year and a half for a promotion and transfer into the elite Cobra unit.

The statement has said Ristic holds a Guinness’ record with 2,370 push-ups done in an hour.

The Union’s statement called on “all those responsible for a constructive and fruit-bearing agreement to stop the departure of the Army personnel.”
