The Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) announced it would open an office in Belgrade on April 18. The largest trade association of Croatian businesses, HGK had first opened a Belgrade office in 2001 before closing it in 2013.

There are currently some 200 Croatian companies doing business in Serbia, and with a 750 million of investments in the Serbian economy, Croatia's eastern neighbour has become the fourth most important destination for Croatian investors.

In 2016, Serbia and Croatia had a trade exchange worth 904 million, with Serbia recording a surplus of 30.8 million.
