Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj fired his internal affairs minister and intelligence agency chief for failing to report six arrests and deportations

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj fired on Friday (march 30) Internal Affairs Minister Flamur Sefaj and Kosovo Intelligence Agency chief Driton Gashi for failing to inform him about the arrest and deportation of six people alleged to have links to cleric Fetulah Gulen who was indicted for organizing a coup in Turkey.

The Kosovo police and intelligence agency were obliged by law to inform the Prime Minister of the arrest and deportation of six employees of the Mehmet Akif college who are suspected of being members of Gulen’s organization FETO.

Haradinaj decided to fire both men at a meeting the previous night with President Hashim Thaci who said earlier that the arrests and deportation violated the democratic standards of Kosovo.
